lets all ppoint and Neotronik and laugh!!!

Let's all point to a chalkboard and teach Taylex how to spell!!!!
c'mon guys; I did like the mac and loved attending macworld and looked forward to Steve's keynotes.
I admire apple's boldness in the direction they have taken the mac with the g5. But I'm tired of forced hardware and OS's put to death.
Someone mentioned Re-sale value of the mac. You don't see pc resales that often because; you can upgrade them. I do love looking at the latest MOBO's from Abit; Asus and Gigabyte. Top of the line Mobo's about the mid 150's. In all an upgade to the top of the line amd or pentim 4 Mobo/processor with heatsink and fan with about a gig of pc 3200 ddram is under a thousand dollars @ www.mwave.com
I have a Thermaltake Xaser III case once again and when the Amd 64 comes out; it's no problem to upgrade the mobo and processor. Serial Ata's (raid) and Scsi 160/320 still complements the mobo/processor upgrade; That to me is overall value. What we really are talking about here is that apple is charging you for hardware that you can't upgrade and yearly software updates whilst killing off those who refuse to upgrade. 3000 dollars yearly is way too much; the user experience is what people say you pay for; Hey I own a ti-book. Its fantastic. It all depends on the user as well. I don't enjoy audio editing on the mac; it's terrible; I used peak, DP3/4 and Logic. SoundForge Vegas and acid really are robust with audio editing and multi tracking. Logic is a damn good argument right now but it's not all there for me. Soundtrack is making this decision hard as hell. Oh the things I could now do on a mac (i've been doing them for years on the pc thanks to sonic foundry) Again it's the user. I enjoy both platforms but if i had to pick it would be my own built pc platform. Let's talk nuts and bolts; the latest serial ata;scsi;max memory; equal; Cases (the g5 case is ugly and the g4's were nothing to write home about) I like the thermaltake cases; they are majestic and well designed. Chip architechture/Processors and software; Ok this is where the meat is; depending on the USER once again this is a neverending argument. I love both platforms; I don't like having to pay an arm and a leg for a new computer every year and I don't like rushed operating systems that take two years to satisfy the needs of the audio professional ( i took osx and the death of os9 personally) OSX still isn't there with the equivalent audio unts versus the vst plugins available on os9. And it was just months ago that the software and drivers came out of the beta stage. That really ticked me off. I did enjoy the new OS user experience when it came to Ms office; and i prefer appleworks (cost pennies) it's not as pretty but hey it gets the job done. Itunes is hands down the best mp3 encode; playback; music library organizer I have ever used. imovie; iphoto; Idvd; final cut pro; Adobe web publishing suite; fantastic. I am an audio professional though and there are still issues; I'd be willing to deal with them if there were an inexpensive upgrade path.
If Apple goes this route (processor/mobo upgrades) it's a done deal; I somehow feel i'll always have to have both; but as far as owning top of the line; it will always be the amd pc platform; Apple needs to loosen it's belt and lighten up; if they are so confident that their platform and user experience is superior to anything out there and that it's the fastest latest greatest etc.... there should be nothing to worry about.......... or is there?

What do your posts have to do with the discussion of the MacWorld Expo staying at NY or moving to Boston?

Avus is your beef legitamate?; I was singled out why? Am I the only one off topic; Hmmm i'm not so I obviously got a rise out of you for what i did post. :-)
Your questioning my intellect? LOL You are hysterical!!! Stop being a pansy! I'm sorry to have disturbed your life by voicing my opinion in the macworld in ny thread. OMG; Stop the presses Neotronik and a few others are off topic; our intellect is on the line because avus says so. Off with your heads !!!LOL!!!

Dude whether or not macworld stays in NYC or goes; doesn't matter to me anymore. After Steve not attending; it changed my mind about alot of things.
NYC needs macworld with or without steve because of it's economical status since 9-11.
Steve not attending angered alot of people and we simply responded by not attending.
Oh Avus and the spelling B Champ:
Please re-read my long post that will stay in this thread no matter what you do (LOL)
