Check my Flickr for the whole story: search or google "Glisson Album". =D
BTW, I'm loving my Powerbook!

If true, that looks like some even backlighting, as in (perhaps) LED backlit. We shall see. Beautiful if true. :)

Just judging by the picture you posted:
That isn't the newest build of Leopard I'm seeing (icons, transparency, dock). And for the rest, it just looks like the border around the screen is painted black. That's not a very ground breaking cosmetic change to the MBP, you would suspect something bigger, right?

I agree simply changing the colour around the display is not a big enough change for this to be accurate. It could just be the lighting in the room.

I would expect a hue that matches the lighting on the black bezel. Looks like a shoddy proposal and a shoddy photoshop.

OH MY GOD. A BLACK BORDER. THIS IS INDUSTRY-CHANGING.
On a more serious note: Fake. Also, he's not actually running Leopard. That's Liger with the modified LigerDock application in addition to Unsanity's ClearDock Haxie re-coloring the dock triangles to white.
Edit: That's not even Liger; it's some program making the menu bar transparent. It's still got Tiger's Apple and Spotlight icons.

Um, no. The new MBPs will be incased in an, as yet unknown to man, metal. :)

I agree, I find that so hideous that I would rather buy a used, worse speced, MBP pre-"update" rather than a new, better speced, post-update MBP.

How about lead?
Or aluminum foil. That way when you're done using it, the laptop can be conveniently folded into a tinfoil hat :D

If it's some new Macbook Pro then why is the hard drive named "Powerbook HD"?

To me that picture looks so obviously faked :p

You didn't think otherwise, did you? ;)
With all this speculation, I am very curious what the new MBP will look like. Granted the guts and the tech are more important, but how will Apple improve the general look of an already great example of simplicity and style?

Notice the powerbook charger?
Almost looks like a dorm room to me.
And I can see Steve Jobs sending a mystery machine to a student in a dorm room.

This was done in paint or photoshop or something, you can tell if you look closely. Halfway down the right side there is an error, the top left edge looks like crap and the bottom just doesnt look right.
Unless im crazy.
edit: and the powerbook charger proves this lol

you know looking at that first picture, the angle of the dock makes it look like an extension of the bottom part of the macbook pro into the screen...very nice 3d effect.
How great would it be if the next gen macbooks and pros had sensor in them which could tell the angle of the sceen and render the angle of the dock with it so it was the same. I would love that 8) Far too much cost and effort, but i would pay!

You'd have to calibrate that with different seating angles...

That's a bad Photoshop . The black bezel has no reflections or gloss whatsoever. The powerbook charger! Could have at least gotten a MagSafe MacBook to to make it more realistic

OPer here. Thank you all, the comments were great! As stated, I wasn't trying to pass it off as "the real deal", sorry if you got that impression. I'm a recent switcher as of January, and just picked up that PB. I also have a "last gen" =/ iMac that I'm passing along to my father in law to get "this gens" iMac.
When thinking about the two (PB and new iMac) I wanted to make a rough draft of what it could possible look like (hence lack of real Macbook aesthetics, really should have changed that HD moniker, lol) and of course utilize my amazing Seashore skills (not Photoshop). And, as obvious from my image, those skills are non-existent. :o
Addressing posts:
TaylorC: Just ClearDock with Leopard Wallpaper and 3D Dock Seashored =)
f1400: Seashore, and yes, I do suck at it! ;)
jczubach: I'm honored! :D
Jblack4083:Sorry, I'll have is my PB. I could ave Seashored it in... oh man would that be a disaster! On the topic of gloss, do you have a link or suggestion as to how to do that effect in photo editing? I'm just starting with image rendering and editing. Any help would be great!
Lastly, I would love to see any of your takes? Maybe get the "official" MBP image off Google and see what you come up with? I'm betting on that bezel being there in the future, just my take on things to come!

lol...I was thinking unobtainium :)Quite a few of the heavier elements are actually more or less unobtainable as in they have been created by man on earth and are nowhere to be found here because they only exist for a very short time.

Next time make sure you dont have your old powerbook charger plugged into a magsafe. oh wait maybe apple is going back to the inferior-to-all-products charger tip....thats it...ya
