Has anyone heard of this (http://www.sauerbraten.org) or played it before?

I have it. Its pretty good for a free game. The multiplayer is pretty good (very much like quake 3 arena) but the single player is a little shady.

Overall though... worth downloading :)

I just thought I'd bring this back... I've had a recent addiction to this game and I find it to be pretty much the best thing ever.

Mainly because of it's editing features, which let you edit maps in REAL TIME with OTHER PEOPLE. It's awesome.

The system takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of it you can make some amazing things. (http://www.quadropolis.us/flexinode/list/1)

There is a bug if you have Leopard though, it's easy to fix if you read this (http://www.cubeengine.com/forum.php4?action=display_thread&thread_id=1580).

Basics:

Press E to go to edit mode.

Click or drag somewhere. Scroll.

Instant wall!

This works in single player or coopedit servers in multiplayer.

I play this occasionally.
It's pretty amazing what quality this game brings it being free, open source.

Buying my first Mac in 12 days (and counting:)). I plan on playing two games on it: Oolite & Sauerbraten.

Can anyone share their hardware specs and frame rates on Sauerbraten?

I plan on getting the 2.0ghz imac with 4 gigs of ram and am interested in what kind of performance I can expcet from Sauerbraten.

Thanks

Chad

deffo! I enjoyed it, modern day doom style action. Just kills galore! :)
SP could be better, I agree. Sometimes walking around an object is to much for the monsters.. Editing is cool
:)

I spend more time editing/making maps than actually playing in them.
