Cool...
How long did it take to do? And is it difficult?

About ten to 15 minutes and IMO it was very easy. Just remove the 4 screws (two on each side) and slide a flat blade around the edge to release the tabs. Then the cover just pops off.
Leaving the part I cut out off and just sticking it back together without the blue makes it brighter also, as a second option. Monokote makes 20 different colors, so I am going to grab a few different one's and try lime green, as well as tangerine and a few others. People with black books can do red and it would look amazing.

That's quite nice, I wouldn't do it for my PowerBook though.

Cool! Were I to do this (never, but hypothetically) to my MBP I'd pop in a HD screen as well.

If I remember correctly, this "mod" voids the warranty.

Words of wisdom - this is a post-AppleCare mod for sure.
Looks pretty, though - if I ever pick up a knockaround iBook, this would be fun.

Oh ok, in that case ... have fun with it!

Very nice! Definitely something I would consider doing when the AppleCare warranty runs out.

I recycled a WH Smiths bag to give mine a purpley-blue glow. 6 months on and its still going strong.

Could this be the start of a "Post your :apple: Mods thread" ?

In the interest of trying new colors, I am running yellow this week :)

WOW... that must be that yellowing problem with the screens that MBP owners complain about ;)
(and yes I know it's a MB in the pic)

The :apple: on my powerbook has been yellow for about a year. I also
used monokote. I think the powerbook may be a little more difficult than
the ibook, but it still only took about 20 minutes total.
