hi, on MS Xp you have a referral service in which you can choice from a selection of ISPs adn connect, without going out your way and getting a cd.

e.for xp/2000 users

when making a new connection you can select choose rom list of ISPs. is this option available on the mac, choosing from list of ISPs or not?

Do you have OS X, or some earlier operating system? I've never seen anything like the list that you're talking about. I'm pretty sure there isn't one in OS X. For that matter, I'm pretty sure there isn't one in OS 9 and earlier, either.

Like, if you wanted to install various ISP's software? Most ISP's don't need software, just a brief configuration if necessary of your system, and the ones that do (avoid them) are like AOL, etc... You can download their software from their respective sites.

MS shouldn't be trusted for ISP advice, at least i wouldn't... If you're looking for an ISP, my advice would be to find a local ISP in the yellow pages... ask friends, see if they've used one... for instance, i used an ISP cooperative for a while, it was very nice... solid reliability, fast service...

This is dial-up of course... Cable or DSL, check with companies in the area...

System Prefs/Network/Location

You could probably set up a bunch of different dial-ups/cable/etc. as locations. I doubt they "have" to be called home and/or work. ;)

Should be able to set them up for multiple ISPs, don't know what the limit is though.
