New to Macbook pro and need someone to tell me if this is the latest and greatest 17" macbook pro:

Apple MacBook Pro MB077LL/A Model: A1229

MB077LL/A = MacBook Pro 17" 2.4GHz/2GB not sure about the Model number it may imply BTO i.e more RAM or larger HD.
