Does iPhone pop remove emails from server?

When the iPhone email is configured using a pop server, does it remove the emails from the server?
From what I understand that is a config of the mail client, in this case the iPhone.

I believe there is an option under settings that limits deleting of email to just your iPhone. Should be under your email account settings > advanced settings.

Never
Seven Days
When removed from inbox
