M Makosuke macrumors 604 Aug 31, 2007 #2 I'm not aware of any simple free tool that does this. MBROLA: http://tcts.fpms.ac.be/synthesis/ ...does have a Mac-compatible free speech generator that does Japanese, and I've gotten it to work, but it requires special .pho files to generate speech, and I'm not aware of any easy way to generate them from Japanese text, at least on a Mac.
