I have about 600 hundred dollars to spend and i was wonderering what camera and acessories to get (ie. tripod, case etc.) Right now i am leaning toward getting a nikon d40 but and other help.

So pretty much you're restricting yourself to $70 in extras?

I would suggest a cheap target/walmart tripod ($20)
a 1gb card ($20ish, depending)
and a case (variable)

I have a D70 and buy pro-only CF... but yes, you can do much better
