Just confirming that the US store is down. Probably just pre-launch maitnence, I doubt they'll drop a new iPod on us without a media event.

Apple has announced October for Leopard. There's no way they'll release it ahead of time... Maybe just maintenance?

I am 98% sure that is what they are doing. They want a flawless transition this time unlike what happened last time (store went up and down for several hours).

True, from what we've seen, it looks almost done, now Apple is making it perfect. Adding those touches that make it so great

LOL! I hope you are not using Amazon as your source. They have been unreliable as far as timing goes in the past. iLife '07 anyone?

sad that i actually got very "happy" when i saw the store was down. hoping to see an ad showing "new ipods" coming soon.
