tazo,
if you want a list of upcoming stores, there was one put out by Think Secret and posted on this site about a week ago. It's at:

If you want firm dates for the openings, unless the mall sites post something they are pretty much not announced until the last minute. In addition to the few dates available it looks like the Richmond store is set to open when the mall opens on September 4th. But, I don't suppose with your address that interests you? Haven't seen a firm date yet on either the new Seattle or Tigard sites.

Cool!! will be back to see it open.... Ginza is a strange place to put an apple store. Akihabara or Shinjuku would be more ideal. Just a thought

Ginza is a symbolic place. It's where many of the big companies in Japan had their first store. It's where Tokyo revolved around until 10, 15 years ago. It may not be the ideal place for an Apple store, but for a visionary company like Apple, it's the best place to begin.
Besides, Ginza is where the Sony Building is! :p

Any of you familiar with the Ginza district know who owns the building for the new Apple store? I ask because perhaps it could indicate a partnership for other stores in Japan. If Apple is going to use retail outlets for its marketing strategy in Japan it is going to take more than one store for a nation of over 125 million people.

They haven't started building it yet, and there's no info from Apple about where they're going to build it... but once they do I'll look into it. It'll probably be next year though...

I don't know if their guess is correct, but if the store is to open just aftert the first of the year they had better be already working on it.
