iPod error message when no mp3-backup on mac:

itunes gives me an error message after ipod-hotsyncing if mp3-files are no longer on the computer's hard drive.

to have all the files "double" is a kind of waste of space.

is there a workaround?

can i have the mp3s only on the ipod without getting itunes' error message?
