iPod New iPods and education discount

Since it is rumored the new ipods will be announced Sept. 5 and the free ipod education discount goes until Sept. 16, does this mean that a student would get the newest revision of the ipod if it is purchased after Sept. 5?

No, Apple has released new iPods like this before, the discount applies only to the current models... Updates are exempt from the discount.
