If there's something worse than being unable to figure something out, it's knowing that you've done it before but have forgotten how. Can someone explain how to save all my mail in Mail, back it up and then put it back after I reinstall Tiger? I would be grateful.

Also, I've got some previously imported mail already in my Mailbox (its own box, of course), which mocks my apparent incompetence, seeing as how I've already done this before, and successfully. Will I be able to get that out as well?

backup the ~/Library/Mail folder, then just put it back when you're done.

But I can't seem to find that folder. That's what I assumed, but the size of the contents of the folder is less than 2 MBs, and I know that can't be right.

I just see "Account Types" listed, which seems more like a directory, rather than anything containing actual mail.

There's nothing with "inbox" or anything of the sort.

Final edit: Turns out I was looking in the wrong Library folder. Finally found the right place, and I know what to do from there. Thank you, and sorry for the trouble.
