Being into new music, I get a lot of my music through unknown bands in mp3. Usually I'll convert everything into AAC but I've been finding a fair few stray mp3s littering iTunes.

Is there any way to set up a smart playlist to find these mp3s? I've tried using the "Kind" rule but that doesn't some to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

You may have made the same mistake as me by trying to setup a new smart playlist to sort kind by "mp3." What you need to do is make a new smart playlist and sort Kind by "mpeg audio file" When I did that I only got mp3's.
