Ok... For lack of a better word when I pull up the equivalent of explorer on OSX (had my iMac for 2 days) I have these "quick links" on the left hand side.

Such as

Network
Macintosh HD
=========
Desktop
Josh
Applications
Documents
Movies
Music
Pictures

Now, as I understand it, these links below the ===== are specific to my profile and not accessible by anyone else (i.e. my wife). What I want to do is have one place that we can store all of our pictures, music, movies, etc.

Can I just create a directory off the root of "Macintosh HD" for music and put it all there and both of us will be able to access it?

Also, can I change those links under the ==== to point to the new location?

Wow.. I know this is probably very basic but when I've been using Windows since "Windows for Workgroups 3.51" , it seems to be a steep learning curve for me.

Thanks for the help

Josh

There is a shared folder in the users folder. Put the thing you want to be accessible for all users here.
