overpriced g4's until end of 2005 (pb g4 hires)
still no ogg in ipods
still no full open standard formats in iwork (not just export for example)
fanboy taxes on new products (iphone)
fanboy taxes on more stylish products (black macbook)
buggy applications (safari3)
apple has lost any ideals. it's just about making money anymore. these are just a few examples.
if apple will become in a position like microsoft is they will do the same with just a bit more style.
don't flame me. i just wanted to say it.

1. nobody forced you to buy. it was priced for what it would sell for at the time.
2. why would it be in there?
3. what formats are you looking for?
4. costs money to be on the bleeding edge. deal with it. i have.
5. its the premium for not going with the 'standard'. means they have to buy different color cases. means it costs more. again deal with it.

I suspect that won't be a good enough answer for the OP.
