Subject says it all. I've got some audio from DVDs that I'd like to burn to CD and I'm lookin' for the best way to go about it.

audio hijack. awesome software i use to convert realmedia audio to AAC and stuff like that.
here's the link

just follow the instructions, and you could do it blindfolded folded after a while.

well coming from a pro, i would hold a mic to the internal speaker, but that requires pro skills. anyways, audio hijack or wiretap should do the trick. check versiontracker as well.

so if i speak it picks up what im saying or if im trying to get audio from a dvd and im playing an itunes track that both will be recorded?
when using Audio Hijack 2, is the volume effected by an amplifier or does sound quality remain the same whether using the internal speaker or a 500Watt 5.1 system?

Half right. It won't pick up your voice if you speak (unless you speak into your mac's microphone). It only picks up sound being reproduced by the mac itself, so iTunes would be recorded. However, if you're pulling sound off of a DVD, it is unlikely that you would be listening to iTunes at the same time, I find.
I use wiretap to rip DVD audio, no problems.

audio hijack you can choose one app to take the sound from. that's shareware.
wiretap is the whole system.

If your on a PC, (sounds like you are not) but for others, Flask MPEG can do this.
