I'm thinking about buying the Office v.X student edition and wanted to know if there was anyone syncing their palms to Entourage. Would you say the experience is better or worse than iCal/Address Book/Mail or Palm Desktop?
I don't like Address book, mail and ical all being separate even though they play nice most of the time. I hate the archaic look of Palm Desktop.
Any thoughts?

I have just bought a TiBook that came with Office v.X. I also have a Sony Clie. Syncing it with Entourage was a breeze. First downloaded the Palm Desktop from www.palm.com and sync the Clie with it. Then downloaded a special program from Microsoft for syncing Palm with Entourage and that's it. It syncing with entourage (instead of Palm Desktop) now without any visible problems.
It's actually works better than on Windows, where you have to use Intellisync. The lite version is free but pretty buggy and the full version is around $40.

So you have to pay to sync your palm with entourage or is that just because you have a clie?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. You have to pay for the Intellisync to sync Palm with Outlook on a Windows machine. But on a Mac the syncing program is produced by Microsoft and is completely free. Here it is:

How well does your Tungsten C work with OS X, syncing etc ?

I am a very long time Windows user and have my TiBook for only 3 days. So I am not very familiar with iCal and Address Book.
However, there is at least one feature I like that is not in iCal and Adress book. In Entourage (and in Outlook of course) if you create a record for a person and put his birthday in the reserved field, then it will automatically create a record in the Calendar and warn you some time ahead of the upcoming birthday. I think this pretty cool, don't have to worry anymore about forgotten birthdays.
And btw, the same with anniversaries, etc.

I remember that from my windows days. That is a good feature. Do you know if you can do wrap around events in entourage? For instance my plane leaves at 9 at night and arrives at 12:35 AM the next day. I hate that iCal can't do that.

It works great. iSync is annoying because it doesn't automatically close. And there's no wi-fi sync which is annoying. I suppose eventually there will be though.

I am not near my Mac at the moment. But on Windows Outlook can do warp arounds, so I guess Entourage will do that too.

Wish palm could do it too. I think that's one of the most annoying features about it. Hopefully they fix it by OS 6.
