Every EU stores show a Bluetooth icon next to the battery bar. You can also find some strange letters under the plastic stand but they're quite not readable.

Hint or mistake?

The BT icon is only on one image.
The text is because the reflection is from a different shot of the iPod.
It's the track, album and artist name or something.

So I say error.

Look at this image direct off Apple's site:

See the Bluetooth symbol in the upper right? (Just left of the battery indicator)

Here is the direct link to it on Apple's site. Not sure how long it will stay up there...

it's still on the preorder screen and I hope to god it's true

IMO - it's has BT, they just didn't announce it until they come out with their apple bt headphones. Just two little ear buds with no wires. :)

Besides that, it would make syncing so much easier with your mac. They always tout no wires yet for some reason, apple loves to have you plug in your ipod.

I hope they do put BT in it, that makes file transfer easier, more potential to be a good PDA..

Wouldn't bluetooth make transfers painfully slow? like 3 minutes per song? I don't think it will be on the ipod, since you still need to plug it in for charging.

yeah, for a song, if u just transfer a photo, or a small app that is 200KB in size, BT is much easier.

It would be really nice to have that option, i'd use it, since i transfer like 10 songs every sync, but still, it would be confusing for people to say: "with bluetooth you can transfer stuff, without wires!!" and then on the fine print "it'll take 30 minutes for a video", and videos will be a big part of the touch.

Can they please make wi-fi transfers an option, now that would be nice!

Has Apple already released a horizontal stand for the iTouch/iPhone like the clear one in the pictures above?

Yep. All the iPod touches come with the stand. It's listed in "What's in the box" on the apple website... as far as I know the iphone doesn't come with one.

The stand comes with the iPod touch. Far from a good dock but it's OK.

That's cool for the touch....think it'll be available separately for use with the iPhone?

CONFIRMED BY BNS1201.....VIA COLEEN ON THE APPLE HELP CHAT.

You got a person that does not know what they are talking about... Means nothing.

I just chatted with Apple online and the person I spoke with said "Unfortunetly there is no Bluetooth support, however there is WiFi."

If it has bluetooth, they would have mentioned something during the keynote...it would be another great selling point. I don't see Apple adding new functionality and not mentioning it.

However, I'd love to see the Touch with bluetooth, just for wireless headphones alone...would do wonders when I'm training in the gym/going for runs.

hrm... kinda looks like someone from apple was lazy and took an iPhone photo from their archives and forgot about the BT symbol....

But why would they have bothered to have written iPod as the WiFi network!

And now its been confirmed that there is no bluetooth im really confised!

It's possible the preproduction models had bluetooth but it was removed for some reason. Last minute changes happen all the time.

I hope the bluetooth module is there - but they haven't enabled it yet....

Perhaps in the future there'll be some kind of firmware update that will enable it as it wasn't ready for the initial production release... ?

I think it would be a bit of a lack if there's no bluetooth as well as no dedicated email / push email functionality....

That's what's holding me back at the moment...

Though it's certainly beautiful....with or without !

Update 2 is clearly reopening speculation..

http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/15/ipod-touch-splayed-but-bluetooth-mystery-continues/

I say it's a way to get us all to upgrade to Leopard. A2DP support for stereo headphones in Leopard and on the iPhone and the iPod Touch :)

...not impossible at least.

Even curiouser:

http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/14/ipod-touch-ships-without-os-x/

I wonder what an OSX-less iPhone screen looks like? Have that look and the Bluetooth icon?
