I would like to know who has used the ADC discount from Apple. I would like to know what you purchased and how much of a discount you got and what country do you live in.

Thankyou please.

I used the ADC student developer discoutn to buy a 17PB in March. My price was $2639.00 +$99 enrollment fee.
The one-time hardware discount value far exceeds the $99 student price.

Also, ADC ships before normal users. I ordered my Powerbook in March and had it in 4 days when most of the people who ordered in January still hadn't gotten theirs. Apple likes to take care of its developers.

What % was that, is that a 20% discount you got?

I was wondering about this as well. I am thinking of joining the student developer program, but to make sure it is worth my money (like I said: me student = pockets droop). is there any way of knowing what the dev. discount is before hand. I have heard 20%, but some say it varies between 10-20% depending on model. is the one-tme student dev. price the same as a regular developer's price?

Yes it is but i am more concerned on how they decide what the discount should be. Is it decided on the item of purchase or is it random.

I'm trying to get the others to post what they bought and with the discount given so that we can get a better picture. I'm doing this for myself for budgeting reasons and being a Jew i like to track down every last penny so that i know where i stand before buying.

The Powerbook discounts are really nice. I don't think Apple sets an X% discount, just enough to tempt you to the point of insanity.

Check out the ADC page for prices, add $99 for the fee and see if it works out for you. It made the 17"PB $2738 for me.

Remember, ADC give students a 1-time ONLY hardware discount, don't blow it on a new mouse!

Wow, I never considered this option, but it would definitely save a bundle on a new G5. Thanks for the info!

The discount is really only worth it on the power line, the consumer discount is low. I used the student ADC last Nov to get my 1Ghz TiBook. It was well worth the $99 price and I have gotten regular deliveries of the developer disks as well as a copy of Jagwire. I'm hoping Panther finds it's way here as well, but if not, I got another free copy of Jagwire because my wife's a teacher.
