thats a crazy price for an ipod $999 (i know its aussie dollars) It just sounds really expensive, how much does a dual G5 cost? 8 grand ?!?!? :D

it sounds stupid and its insanely cheaper to get an ipod shipped from the US, a dual 2ghz is around $5,500

Just bought 30GB iPod via ebay from US and even with shipping I still manage to save over AUS $200 on the retail price here. Only thing is waiting to see if I get slugged with tax from customs. Have already bought new Sony headphones, and am going to get a booqpad case, so I think I am still ahead.

Definitely way too much of a price mark up, even allowing for shipping and duty - if they want to move more units to the masses they need to equalise the prices a bit.
