I found out 2 new cases by Seidio that is expected to be ready for sale next week. So I called them up today and I was told to check back middle of next week. The cases are online but cannot be added to the cart at this time. You will get an error when you do.
I have ordered a lot of Smartphone cases from SEIDIO in the last couple of years and been very happy with them. I do say this, SEIDO makes the thinness Crystal or Rubberized hard case I have ever seen. I will order one as soon as it is availabe. See links below.

probably, and I've used Seidio for my blackberry stuff before my iPhone. They make good quality stuff, but the rubber case looks a little expensive on my end. Just my opinion. And like everything else, I'll wait for some sort of review before I buy.

Hi hotsauce,
For the record, I do not work for Seidio.
Before iPhone, I was using Seidio cases for my BlackBerries and Windows Mobile devices. I was excited to see them carry their trademark slim crystal and rubberized cases for the iPhone. I have purchased a lot of cases since day1 but all of them make my iPhone bulky (with the exception of the InvisibleSHIELD). I even tried the new "Showcase" by Contour but still a bulk.
I'm returning the Marware Sport Grip that arrived today. The rubber picks up every bit of lint, it's hard to get out of the pocket, and with the case on my phone won't fit in the dock.
I'm interested in this case. Is it as easy to get it and out of the pocket as it says on the website?

I use this case for my treo 755, it is been very durable. The largest downside is how hard it is to separate the two halves of the case. The treo freezes and locks often and you have to remove the battery to recover. Oh by the way, THANK YOU APPLE FOR THE IPHONE

These look interesting. For those that have bought this brand previously, how do the cases hold up with scratches on the outside and have you seen issues with the case rubbing/scratching the device itself?

The hard case looks like it doesn't add very much bulk, as others do. I will definitely take a look at this one.

How easy are the rubberized cases to pull out of your pocket. I have the Marware sport grip on my iPhone now and it can somtimes be hard to get out because of the stickiness of the silicone. I like the look of the rubberized case, especially on the front as you won't have to look at all the dust/crap that gets under there (like you would with the clear version).

The rubberized case is not sticky...it slides smoothly in and out of your pocket.

I've purchased a few Seidio products and I think they are great! Except the price seems a bit steep for certain products.
I had their rubberized case for a Blackberry Pearl and it was awesome. I loved it!

Me too. I had the crystal, rubberized, and hybrid on my Pearl and other smartphones.
I like the hybrid the best...rubberized back and crystal clear for the sides and front. With this setup, the crystal clear will allow you to clearly see the sides (chrome) and front.

Do these have a pretty good track record of not scratching?
Also, I tend to dock...will the hinges get "weaker" if I have to take the phone out of the case, say once a week?

What is the locking mechanism that holds the two halves together like? I know on some the hard cases I've seen, they halves can come apart pretty easily. The only hard shell case I've seen that doesn't do this is the one made for the Ipod Nano by agent18 but hey don't have an iPhone case yet.

Well... I ordered the Seido case last week and it arrived Monday. I also picked up the agent18 case from my apple store to do a comparison. Overall both are nice cases but the finish of the Seido case leaves a bit to be desired. The crease where the two halves come together was not completely flush in certain places even though it was snapped all the way around. It does snap quite tightly and I wouldn't worry about it coming off if dropped but I just didn't like the fit/finish of it. The holster for the case does fit the phone nicely and seems to be very easy to get in/out.
The agent18 case seems to be of much higher quality (fit wise) than the Seido case. The edges are cut very precisely and come together evenly. It's a tad thicker than the Seido case but I can live with that.
Between the two I will be keeping the agent18 case. I feel it's of higher quality and will utltimately hold up better for the long haul. That said, I think both cases are worth looking at.

Hi everyone...I got my Seidio case and i think its perfectly fine. It's very thin, lightweight and form fitting. The texture of the case is very "rubbery" feels like the body of a pink eraser without the softness. I actually like the feel, it gives the heavy body some grip. As for the agent 18 case, I haven't seen it in person, but there is a pretty good review with pictures for it here (http://blog.monkeykit.com/2007/09/14/review-eco-iphone-shield-by-agent-18/): This case looks decent too, just that I personally don't like the seam across the back and basic plastic finish. :apple:

Thanks for the pictures and review pmelio. I was wondering what the inside of the case is like? Is it "rubbery" also? Do you feel that it could cause scratches to the iPhone? Also how tight a fit is it? Would it fit with a invisible shield/bse/bodyguardz skin in place on the whole thing? Oh and is it like a coating that can scratch off?
Thanks

You can see in his pictures that there are gaps on multiple areas on the case. This was what I mentioned in my review. It just didn't seem like the case fit well together. I think because of how thin the case is, preventing
this could be very difficult.

More info on the case: Question about the fit: The i-phone fits in the case perfectly snug, I don't know how much thickness the full body clear skins add, but i suspect it would be a very tight fit, or maybe not fit at all. As for the inside of the case it's NOT rubbery, its smooth plastic. Question about it scratching, I don't know, I've read the stories about i-phones being damaged because of plastic cases, and because of this, I've been checking under my case daily to make sure no damage is happening, and thus far it looks the same as when i put it in (4 Days Ago). The question about the fit: The case closes tightly and takes some force to get off. As for the gaps, the case doesn't close perfectly clean, but this in no way affects how well it stays together, its merely a very minor cosmetic imperfection. I ran a plain piece of paper along the seam and at the cleanest points you can't stick anything in, and at the widest point, two sheets. I agree with netronin, i too suspect it's this way because the plastic is so thin. Question about the finish, its very durable its not a spray-on rubber effect that can peel off, its actually the plastic thats been treated someway to give it its texture. I tried a scratch test in a small inconspicuous spot, and nothing happened.

I have pictures for you...
you know, this case isn't 100% perfect. If you're extremely picky, you may not like the minor imperfections in the molding of this case. There are fairly minor aesthetic imperfections around some parts of the edge of the case where it snaps together. The tiny gap between the two sides of the case varies only very slightly as you inspect it. And there is a gap. A slight one. This is the way it was designed. See picts. I haven't seen the agent18 case in person so I can't say much about that one.
Now these imperfections aside, I still this this case is great!
1- the rubbery feel of the case is great (feels real nice, like tip of hard eraser but not really soft)
2- the thickness is very thin and really minimizes the form factor, it feels sleek.
3- the case seems like it's snapped together pretty good. I can unsnap it by inserting a guitar pick in the crevice fairly easily. Haven't dropped it so I can't say whether the case would not pop off if I dropped the phone on concrete.
I'm going to stick with this case. If I drop it and the case pops off, well then that would be a reason to seek another case.

I've got both the Agent 18 and the Seidio. I received the Agent 18 first, then the Seidio. When I got the Agent 18 I thought I had finally got the case I had been looking for. It was very tight fit, pretty thin and had a slight bit of texture to make the phone less slippery than naked. I liked that it was minimalist in terms of covering up the screen. It wasn't perfect though, it didn't completely cover the chrome in the corners and you could very slightly see the chrome. It was a bit heavy, and though it was textured a little bit, it could have been tackier. I didn't like the tree on the back. All in all though it blew away the competition--if you don't mind a hard case. Then I received the seidio. What I really like about the Seidio is that it is tacky, yet not like silicon where it sticks too much in the pocket. It also doesn't collect lint like a silicone case. It is very thin and light. I really like how it adds almost no bulk. Like the Agent 18, it fit very tight and it doesn't seem that there is much room for dust to get underneath by the chrome. Even if it did, there really isn't any movement at all to rub in a scratch like the Icase. It is almost a perfect fit--very well tailored around the screen. Though there are a couple places where it doesn't sit completely flush-namely on the volume button side. it just doesn't seem to have support because of the large slice cut out for the volume button and the plastic being so thin. Though this is very minimal and maybe with a bit of sandpaper this might even be fixable. It is also not well rounded by the speakers/charging port. It could be rounded off with sandpaper a bit too. All in all, both have big advantages and disadvantages. If you want very sleek, easy grip, nice matte look and are not extremely picky about the edges lining up (and I mean very picky--its really not too bad, and I'm pretty picky), you want the Seido. If you like a extremely good fit, not so tacky feel, a little more weight, completely unobstructed screen--and like trees on your case, go with the Agent 18.

btw the feel of the seidio is like the Sprint a900 phone but a bit more tackier. I really wouldn't say it feels like rubber--except maybe like a spray-on coated rubber.

Today, I accidentally dropped my iPhone from about 3 feet into a parking lot. The front of the Seidio black rubberized case popped off immediately and fell aside. The iphone landed on it's back with the back of the case still on.
I was disappointed the case didn't hold together.
so I came up with a pretty good solution I think.
in my wife's scrapbooking stuff, I found these small adhesive rubbery thingys called Zots. The box reads:
'Zots provide a double-sided, clear, instant bond. Perfect for adhering paper, photos, plastic, metals and more!'
you know when you get a magazine in the mail, and there's an outer cover glued to the cover with this clear, gooey adhesive material you can pull off in a long stretchy string? It's similar to this.
(you can get these Zots at Walmart in the scrapbooking section)
I used these small 'Zots' and attached them to the insides of the Seidio case (both sides). I put 6 Zots on the inside of the back of the case, arranged spaced out, and 8 on the inside of the front of the case, near the home button and ear speaker. So these Zot thingys will hopefully adhere the case to the phone if it's dropped.
I snapped it all back on the iPhone and I'm pretty sure it's going to hold up if I dropped the phone on concrete again. These Zot thingys are not glue, so they will not permanently adhere the case together or damage anything. It's more like a gooey adhesive which you can just remove with your finger. But it's fairly adhesive, and also thin and doesn't create a space between the case & iPhone.
picts of what I'm talking about...

Interesting idea. Looks like it might be a good solution. I'm liking my case now that I've sanded down a few edges, and inserted a very slim slice of double sided adhesive along the edge with the volume. That tightened it up just enough without affecting the fiit. I still think it is one of the best covers out there. I really like the feel of it.

BTW, my iphone in the seidio case fits very well in the DLO horizontal leather pouch. I find it to be the best combination yet. Agent 18 was a little bit tight. So, I have the Apple crystal screen protector, the iphone in the seidio case, and then when I carry it around in the DLO horizontal belt pouch. I think this combination is hard to beat. And I've read, read, read, and bought, bought a number of other options before settling on this.

Is the Seidio case that thin or is the DLO horizontal pouch normally just loose with a naked iphone?!
I just bought and returned the Agent 18 case. It is SO slippery! It's like putting a slippery case on an already slippery iphone! I feel like I will drop the phone much more with the Agent 18 case, it's too bad they didn't give the case a more rubbery grippable texture. BTW I think I scratched some of the chrome by putting on and removing the Agent 18 case, it definately does NOT slide on easily!

It's slightly snug with just rhe phone and breaks in over time. With the seidio it stretches a bit further after a little more use. Since the closing flap is able to close a bit higher or lower, with the slightly larger size with the seidio you simply fasten it slightly higher. Grip is much better than the agent 18 but not so tacky tonmake it hard to get it in and out of the dlo like the in case was (but the in case was much thickerr too)

I have the Agent 18 case and I think it is a great case. What i really liked about it was that it doesnt casuse scratches on your phone like the incase rubber ones. I also ordered the Seido case and will have it friday. Its more of what i'm looking for as far as feel and style.
I think the perfect case would be the Agent 18 with a rubbery texture on the back and instad of putting a tree on the back, leave it clear so it can display the Apple Logo.
I recommend to anyone do not buy and clear plastic cases until they make them scratch resistant. After a few days they look horrible.
I also wanted to point out that I'm on my third iphone and this one I have is brand new out of the box and the first thing I did was put it in the Agent 18 case and like said earlier, scratch free.

I'm getting one of these today, but haven't decided which one yet.
My main concern is not the scratching of the bezel (I don't think this can be helped) but of the scratching/chipping of the back case; the aluminum portion. I had the Belkin Acrylic case, and it chipped away the back casing on my first iPhone.
I've got the InCase rubber right now and it's fine other than it's stretched out to hell.
Anyone have any "chipping" problems with either Seidio or Agent 18?

Is there any play/movement in this case? Seems like that's the number one reason things get in the back and chip away at the casing.
The Agent 18 also concerns me because of the way it is put on. Seems like the sides of the iPhone would get scratched up from removing the case.
How often do you clean/remove the case?

Anyone have any "chipping" problems with either Seidio or Agent 18?
I've had both cases and am now using the Agen18. I don't think it will scratch the back part at all. it's a tight fit, but nothing moves inside, except when you slide it on/off and I don't think it's actually touching then (it does touch the chrom, I think, but not the back part)
The chrome scratching is a different story - I don';t think it can be avoided, but I also don't think the agent18 scratches it. The main difference between the seidio and the agent18 si that the seidio is not as hard so it is possible for it to flex around the screen and rub whatever dirt there is against the chrome. The Agent18 doesn't flex at all. For protection, I think the Agent18 seems like the better choice. For looks and feel, seidio wins.

Is there any play/movement in this case? Seems like that's the number one reason things get in the back and chip away at the casing.
The Agent 18 also concerns me because of the way it is put on. Seems like the sides of the iPhone would get scratched up from removing the case.
How often do you clean/remove the case?
It does not move it all. It is very secure and the fit is excellant. I took it out once just to see if it scratched anything and it still looks brand new. The problem with people getting scratches on the phone is because they keep removing the phone to clean it. Clean what? its protected so just leave it alone is my advice and you will be fine.
I also went with the Anti-Glare Protector from Power Support instrad of the Crystal because I dont have to wipe my phone from smudges all day. I finally found the perfect fit case and protection.

PDE and Macsterling, thanks for the info. You guys sold me on the Agent 18.
One last thing though.
I dock my iPhone at my office so I'd have to remove the case to do that. How easy is it to remove? I'm looking at the pics they have on the Agent 18 site and I don't see how to pull the 2 pieces apart after they snap together.

It's actually very easy. You just hold one end, including the phone, and pull the other. Unlike the seidio which to me was a pain to get off and I always felt I was going to snap something.

No worries. Unless you actually want the phone in the dock you can just actually take the plug out of the dock and plug it in your phone directly and lay it on your desk. Another solution is if you have the universal dock then the Agent 18 case comes with an adapter so you dont have to remove the case if you like seeing your phone docked

Hey guys,
I am going to purchase an iPhone within a few days and have been looking around for a nice case. Those Vaja Cases do look cool, but they r a bit on the costlier side. Anyways, just wondering if any of u have used C.E.O sleeve for iPhone from Marware.

And current iPhone users...would you recommend it?? thx!

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/3A109a Safari/419.3)
I did not like the Marware products. They seem poorly made and would not hold up over time.
I did however receive my seido case in and after a few days of use I think I prefer the agent 18 case. The seido case does not have a good fit due to how thin it is. The lines r not perfect on it.
So its agent 18 for me. If anyone wants the seido case let me know

Thx Macsterling......I just came across this website for iPhone cases. They really seem to have nice ones.

I would recommend everyone having a look at some of the iPhone cases available. They r on the expensive side, but look great quality. Also, if someone already has one of these, plz share your experience with us.
BIG QUESTION: R they really worth the price??

I found out 2 new cases by Seidio that is expected to be ready for sale next week.
I just bought a Seidio holster and case for my iPhone. No question, this is the best phone case I have ever used. In fact, I just ordered another for my wife's new iPhone.

I've had too many issues with this Seido case and stopped using it after few months.
It DID scratch the chrome front portion of the phone.. Quality is sub-par...while it is a good fit, both the case and holster broke 3 times in 5 months. Also, it is very hard to get the phone out of the holster and you feel like it will snap the holster. (as evident by the holster breaking every couple months)
I am not too happy by the case+holster set and will not buy from them again.

I use a Seido holster for my Treo 680, and have had similar problems over the last 8 months or so that I've had it. The rotating mechanism in the holster has loosened up to the point that the phone has a hard time staying in place now. Add to that the spring in the retention piece that holds the Treo in place has loosened as well, causing my Treo to fall out if I brush up against something accidentally. While I liked the rubberized case, it has not held up well over time. Cannot recommend for the new iPhone just from my experience.
