Hate to break it to you but Apple are a business with shareholders - what do you expect them to do? Besides there is a free iPhone update due later this month that adds the ITMS and may add other useful features. No one's forcing you to spend money ;)

That is the beauty of free enterprise, if you want something you buy it. If not, then not. You don't work for free and neither does Apple. :)

Apple does charge for a lot of services... and they have to if they want to make any money, but Apple products are almost always easy to hack. People are saying now that you can create your own ringtones for free and load them into iTunes... http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=351495

I think that's the best way to put it...actually, I'm going to use that and just change the name from Apple to whatever company someone is bitching about later today.
