C & C Generals Screen Resolution Problem

I just got C&C Generals for my new iMac and for some reason it won't allow me to play it at a resolution higher than 1024x768. It's patched to the latest 1.04 version. I don't know what is going on here. Anyone?

I think you must hold down Shift just after you click to start the game, then you can access custom resolutions. If that doesn't work, try ctl or apple, but I think it's shift.
