They've got wildly dissimilar styles, overlap little on the subjects they rap about, and display completely different levels of social consciousness on their records.

I don't think there really is a feud, either... nor do I care about it. It's just a big day for hip hop when two performers that are this big drop albums on the same day. :)

I prefer Kanye West to 50 Cent but 50 Cent has a bigger fan base. 50 cent's past sales have dwarfed Kanye's. i would have to say that in the first week 50 Cent will sell more but Kanye may pass him by the holiday season.

From what I heard in an interview with 50 Cent, he went to Kanye for some beats, etc for his new album. The whole "I'll quit if he sells more" thing is just a bunch of marketing B.S. just like 99% of the drama in the music world.

I'll preface this by saying that i do enjoy listening to some hip hop...most of it 70s and 80s. I haven't listened to either Kanye or 50 Cent's albums, but I'm rooting for the latter just because Kanye irritates me with his whining.:D

50 does not rap...he talks. But remember the difference between Rap and Hip-Hop. People like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Kanye are Hip-Hop. 50, Dre, Icecube are Rap. This is my opinion. I like Kanye more.

Eh just like every middle class white kid who buys 50 cent because they're hardcore and can relate to being shot 9 times. You must be forgetting 21 questions and candyshop, those were definitely sugar coated pop candy rap. 50 floats between 2 extremes, gangsta rap and suger coated pop candy rap.

Kanye's just different than anything out there especially when he released The College Dropout and Late Registration. He had strong direction in those 2 albums, they were his best albums.

I definitely need to give Graduation a few more listens before I can give it a solid critque. It was definitely a hyped up release, which maybe a bad thing.

Yeah, Graduation is very different. Rolling Stone commented that you'll like it more and more the more you listen to it... I'm tending to agree so far.

In consideration to the other side, I did realize I never ended up seeing Get Rich or Die Trying (because getting my friends to do anything involving hip-hop is a PITA.... :rolleyes: I didn't get to see Tupac:Resurrection in the theater either). 'Curtis' is practically no different than any of 50's previous albums.

'Graduation' is by far my favorite Kanye cd so far and it has its own type of sound.

Kanye deserves the 'win' even if he is so cocky I'd like to punch him in the face repeatedly. I really like Kanye as an artist, musically, but I loathe him as a human being. Enough with the whining and complaining and hype man...make a name for yourself with your music, don't do it by throwing tantrums and acting like a jack@$$.

Both album suck....Kanye style is the same but his beats are cool. 50 keeps talking about the same crap over and over again but its catchy.

Both of them are selling and by the month end they'll be platinum...think I really care who wins as long as the music is good and from what I hear both are mediocre.

Ya'll do know both of them are in on this thing just to increase sales right....as long as ya'll know that.
