Alright so I got my iSight a few days after it was released. Tried it out with my 17" flat panel iMac and it worked great. No problems. Continued working for two or three weeks. Then, it just stopped working. I load up iChat click on the little video camera icon the window appears showing the video for about 1 second and then iChat A/V unexpectedly quits. Happens every time, whether I try just audio or audio and video. I just chalked this up to, well it's beta software i hope it'll be fixed when the real version is released with panther. Then I saw the new app iRecordNow. Downloaded it open the application, can see my video running in the window for about one second and then iRecordNow unexpectedly quits. I don't understand. I think it must have to do with some file on my computer that's causing this. I've tried completely erased and reinstalled both apps several times and the same thing happens. Please someone help.

reinstall ichat. dont worry about irecord. it came out a couple of days ago so dont get worried. also check system profiler and make sure the mac reconizes it.

I've tried reinstalling ichat. SEVERAL times. It doesn't fix it. System profiler definitely does recognize it as well. I'm at my wits end.

Might be a silly question because you've probably already done it but have you fixed permissions on disk utilities?
Also, maybe have a go running disk utilities from the OS X install disk and scan for any disk errors.
I suppose it could be something inside iSight that's doing this.

I'm running Jaguar 10.2.6 and yes I have repaired disk permisions and run disk utility. The iSight works fine on other computers. It's only on this computer that the problem occurs.

my isight works with evocam and ichat AV, but not irecordnow...remember that irecord is in early beta at the moment.

try deleting your ichat prefs...if that doesn't work, reset ichat to 1.0 throught the ichat AV menu, then repair permissions, then reinstall ichatav.

Weird....I can't seem to revert back to iChat 1.0. I select the option go through the install and restart. When it starts back up it's still iChat A/V. Perhaps that's the problem. I aslo don't have an iChat preferences file.
