Has anyone noticed that when you start typing in a URL into Safari it autocompletes the url for you, not giving you the option just to go to the homepage of the site you are typing, only pages you have previously been to already.?

solutions...

type faster. when you type without pausing between each letter, the autocomplete does not start up

there is a pull-down menu when it starts to autocomplete...use it

delete what's added...EX--when you want forums.macrumors.com, sometimes it may want to complete with something like... forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=1...when you finish typing forums.macrumors.com, it will highlight the extra added part...press delete.

i don't understand why people are having sucha problem with the autocomplete URLs...i think it's great.

it is nice and even with the forum links, usually the one without any threads is the first option so all you have to do is skip down one and enter.

when you start typing for example www.amazon.com surely you'd want it to default to the homepage and not a previous page on the amazon site you've already looked at. I just think the homepage should appear first and the drop down menu should display all the other visited links within the site.

Yup, annoys me too. IMO, the "stub" URL should be the first option (or at least, a preference to set it that way).
