It's a joke. Not a very good one at that.

Of course, I'm sure they won't honor my Macintosh XL purchase. This is egregious, I tells ya!

Of course, this could really bankrupt the company.
People interested in the refund will need to bring in an original receipt showing they bought the Lisa in 1983 and proof of purchase from the Apple Lisa box. Sales figures from that year show that if all people who bought the computer claim the refund, Apple could be liable for almost $70,000.

That's what I wanted to know I'm 15 and I didn't read the whole thing lol but if true it would have been crazy!

I know someone who still has a Lisa in working condition. Its probably worth more than $7000 as a collector's item!

Actually, a better argument could probably be made for this than the iPhone rebate.

I mean, product cycle were a lot longer in the Lisa days than now. Anyone buying an iPod, iPhone or any electronic device should have no expectation that that will be the latest thing for any longer than 5-10 business days. After two weeks, it's fair game to update, price drop, etc.

In the Lisa's day, you had a good 12-18 months, EASY.

Ah, the young and innocent. Stay away from old guys that ask you to star in their "movie".

That's a pretty clever joke, but The Onion would have written it funnier.
