Some people already have the ipod touch on ebay. How are they doing this?

This guy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150159419105 has 10 already.

This guy from the uk: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180157833070&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008 says he will ship on the 21st.

anyone know if these are legit?

Seems like a good way to get Apple legal knocking at your door. Don't know how a user could legitimately get these, but I can think of myriad illegitimate ways...;)

If you look closely at the US ebay auction at the bottom is says domestic shipping usually within 20 business days of receiving payment. Sneaky Sneaky!

Nice work, sir.

You don't have to have an iPod to sell it on eBau. You can either sell it and deliver once you can buy it, or you can just sell it, take the cash and disappear. And no, it cannot possibly be legit.

That box looks like a Photoshop to me...

Look at the angles on the box... They are all wrong... Unless the Touch comes in a trapezoid box...

Definitely a photoshop above, rest assured none of these clowns have touches. As for the second sellers claim of postage on the 21st, I think he is taking a risk hoping they will come in early and saying it to attract extra buyers....

It's just a scam that attracts all the people that don't read the fine print.

I reported the post to eBay. The poster claims to have the iPod Touch in his house.

JUST ARRIVED!!!
I HAVE 10 OF THESE AT MY HOUSE RIGHT NOW!

Also have to question this small print:

Some Items May Have Been Modified For This eBay Listing.

Lens warping, is all. Cheap camera.

The camera would have to be more than "cheap" for that kind of "warpage," especially when the ad acknowledges it's a mock-up.

The first link has been removed.
I can't understand why people would consider buying this on ebay when the release is planned for September 28..

I reported it to eBay, as I'm sure other people might also have done. The seller claimed to have them in stock -- something that would be impossible to legally do since the release isn't set for Sept. 28. Hopefully, eBay canceled the person's account, too.

I get barrel distortion like that on my cell phone camera for close-range shots.

wow, scam artists at work. At least its better than craigslist. Used to love that site, now its just like a big scam hole with people asking new prices for used stuff. I hate seeing something that was supposed to be awesome go so wrong because people want to take advantage of it and other people(at least in the Boston area). Oh well.

Not saying it was real, but it was definitely based on an actual photograph of, say, an iPhone box.

I suppose we should report amazon too, because they're selling iPod touch before its ship date!
