I bought and installed Sims 2 the other day and now I am a raging Simshead. Full on addiction.
Is this game any different in XP?
What add-ons are must-haves for us addicts?

The game is the same. My favorite game expansion is Open for Business. Just adds another whole element to the game. You should be able to find some links for downloads and mods for this game at http://www.modthesims2.com/

God, I remember getting addicted to the Sims 1 and a half a ton of expansion packs on my PC, you can sit there for hours...
Needless to say, it crashed, alot, I got fedup and sold it, good game, shame about the OS it ran on...

I haven't had Sims 2 crash on me yet (running it on Mac, not XP). I like that it supports wide screen too.

I had A LOT of issues with The Sims 2 on XP. Any time I went to minimise without quitting the game, the screen went all glitchy. Sometimes I had to force a shutdown as the program simply wouldn't exit. When I rebooted back up, there was an error message. Needless to say I uninstalled.

Wow. Well, this version is rock solid so far. Were you on this OS or the old Mac version?
