Your original question was; "do u think the casio ex-z1080 is a good camera for capturing video and using it on final cut express?"

The answer is still NO. Even if it does record video (at a reduced frame rate and in a very highly compressed format that wasn't meant for editing), how are you going to capture any video to your Mac with it?

If you're not concerned with quality at all ... or just want to see if it works, why not try it with your cell phone first? That would make about as much sense.

I learned earlier today that final cut express wont work with my av to dv pass through camera (Sony TRV-480). Tech support suggested I use iMovie to upload the clips then export it to a quick time moview.. then import it into final cut express... does not sound like something I want to do on a regular basis.. and I have 30 more tapes to go.... good luck.
