View Full Version : Alu 24 Internal BootChime even when on Speakers?

Hi,

I have a few different Macs and the normal behaviour is that if there are speakers plugged in, the boot chime sounds through them. That way you can easily turn it down at night when switching your Mac on.

But on the new iMac it seems to play the chime at the same volume through the internal speakers whether you have external speakers connected or not.

any ideas?

This happens on some macs. I don't know if you can change it or not.

I think there is a way to turn off the chime but it's a hack that i don't remember.

Google is your friend.

I use arcana's startup sound (http://www5e.biglobe.ne.jp/~arcana/StartupSound/index.en.html) pref pane. Just make sure you download the intel one (http://www5e.biglobe.ne.jp/~arcana/StartupSound/BETA/index.en.html) if you have and intel iMac.
