OS Updates for New Programs

I have bought a video conversion program called MP4 Video Converter. I cannot download the software because I am running OS 10.2.8 and I find out now it requires OS 10.4 to run. I am using a G4.
How can I upgrade my OS to make this program work without damaging the Media 100 editing software?

Unfortunately you're going to have to buy the latest OS X from apple, Tiger. Leoperd will be coming out next month, so you might want to wait.
