You can file this one under noveltyware. I remember a long, long time ago there was a utility that lets you get data such as temperature from your CPU. It went in the control strip and you could have it display different information. Is there anything out for that that will work on OS X? Also, I think it would be cool if there is a program that will let you manually control the fan speeds (simply as a parlor trick to try on your friends). It's all silly but would be cool never the less.

That would be cool. Something like speedfan (http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php) on the PC. I'm sure someone can program it.

Yep, there was one developed awhile back called ThermoInDock (http://homepage.mac.com/takashi_hamada/Acti/MacOSX/ThermoInDock/index.html). It works with my Yikes G4, but I don't think it works with any of the recent G4s.

I use that on my DP 1.25 it's kinda neat. It's the only one I have found where the temperature works and that's all I needed
