I see some weird thing about the iPod nano screen. As what i see, there are gaps on the left and right side of the screen. Look at the pictures I have included. I feel these gaps make iPod nano screen looks imperfect.
As for the iPod Classic the screen looks just perfect. It has same gaps for all the four sides. To me, this is what iPod nano screen suppose to be.
How do you guys think?

I've noticed that too...but it doesn't really bother me.

I hadn't noticed it before this post and no it doesn't bother me at all.

Maybe it's to make the screen look more 'widescreen' when it is turned off.
Anyway, I don't mind it at all.

I don't know why, but I feel that it is strange.

Are you sure this isn't just the pictures?
Like perhaps it is not like that on a real deal? (as opposed to the mock-ups from the web site)
My new nano is going to arrive tomorrow so I guess I will find out then, but does anyone who has one already notice this on the "live" model?

Yes. That is the way it is when it is "live".

In the real life, iPod nano will show something like the picture. It bothers me so much that I reconsider to take iPod Classic instead.
Right now I can't decide which one to take. Any suggestion from the nano users?

My guess is that the screen wouldn't have the 4:3 aspect ratio of they used the black space.
Either way, it doesn't bother me at all.

dude, seriously quit nit-picking, the new nano is an amazing thing, the videos look awesome on it, and music sounds better on it than my 5.5 gen ipod video, if you like the nano buy it, if you want the classic instead, buy that. Don't let something like this influence your decision.

I haven't seen them in real life. But why does it bother me is because I compare the nano screen and the classic screen. The classic screen has equal gap on all its four borders. Does apple create bigger gaps just for the left and right on purpose on nano to create some sort of illusion?

No, it's most likely just a technical issue. Don't worry, it's fine.
