Once it's in iTunes can't you just right click on the song and choose 'Convert selection to ***' (or thereabouts)?

windows media player should be able to convert unDRMed wmas to mp3,
I used soundtaxi to convert all my licesned WMAs from cdigix to mp3s and now they work in itunes.
Not sure about legality of it but cidigix got out of the subscription music business so I was screwed becuase I had about 1000 songs that I was no longer going to be able to use that I had paid the subscription fee for.
So I converted them and they work fine.

Yes, it's much easier when the libraries to work with them exist as part of Windows and there were no such libraries on Mac OS X.
