lol. nah, its just meaning that the software is earlier. it will update when synced with itunes 7.4.3. and if you ordered around the 13th, and received a week 38 ipod touch, all issues have been resolved. I have a week 39, meaning I have a more updated version of software and no screen issues, as well as you, except you ahve an earlier version of software

Although I wouldn't reccomend not buying music... You could look into a thing called BitTorrent. No, I can't tell you who, what, when, where, why, or how. Just use Amazon's new music store thing. :)

GO VISTA:p;) Mac is pretty good too, but I am a Windows freak. and yea, like, it wont say like "on a plane", it will probably say " Shipment has arrived at sorting facility" and then "shipment has left the sorting facility, and is in transit" or sumthin like tht, csu the sorting facility is in Beijing, and then from there it goes to Alaska, and then to its destination, and when it goes through a sorting facility, like Beijing, it will say that, and it may say it entered it many times, and this is because it is couting when it was scanned coming of the truck, and then being scanned going through the facility. and then it may say left twice becasue of exiting facility, and into the truck, so, yea, and like, once tht happens, it will say arrived at sorting facility, Alaska, USA, and it will give local Alaskan time for the occurance( -4 hours from EST)

The current status is Package data transmitted to FedEx. But thats not really a physical status. Wouldnt "left origin" mean that it is off to Shanghai?

actually, it mostly would mean that it has left the sorting facility it first went to, in otherwords, the origin city, so like, shanghai would be its origin, because that is where it is shipping from, shanghai is the first sorting facility it would see, so shanghai would be its origin, and when it says left origin, it would most liekly mean shanghai, plus, it will say next to it what city it applies to

All he knows is that it was picked up at 11:03 last nigth( I dont know if that is local time) and then he said it had been entered into the system today. He said I will have to wait until it becomes scanned at a sort facility.

Shipment Exception in this case means that my ipod got to the airport after the aircraft left for Alaska, so, my ipod wil not ship until either Sunday evening, or Early monday morning. I forgot to ask how long it will take, but still, our little guys are split up now. I am sitting rotting in Shanghai, and you guys are already over the ocean. lol, well, actually, unless it doesnt update, then ur the same place, but I am assuming that since it updated at 11:15 and said left origin, that means that last night(the 29th in China) at 11:15, the last plane for the weekend for the mainland left. Thats why it says in transit for you guys. But since my ipod was picked up at 11:47, it missed the last plane out and will be stored at FedEx Shanghai until tommorow night or monday morning. So guys, it was fun while it lasted, but I am so frgging sad this happened. Apple is so retarded, I should call now and say since you shipped a day late it wont get here until after my scheduled time, and get compensated. well, if it says left origin, at 11:15, that most likely means it left Shanghai already, but I am not sure, and I guess FedEx said they're not sure if they r gunna get it to me by wed. thurs. or nt, so now I am DERF gunna call and complain. And guys, I suggest you call 1-800-Go-FEDEX or 1-800-463-3339, and ask about your order status. Dont go automated, as soon as it say, How may I help you? say REP. then it will say something about long wait(which there isnt one) and ten it will say How May I help You? again, and Then say Rep again, and then ask the person about your shipment. Ask them specifically, DID IT LEAVE CHINA, and if they say no, or if it missed the plane, CALL APPLE IMMEDIATELY. Thats what I am doing, i am going to atleast get free shipping. yes im serious, and as log as it doesnt say Shipment Exception, you will get it on time. AND GUESS WHAT??? You'd think that Apple could spare an Intern to go look into this week-long holiday before assuring us of a Sept. 28th shipment deadline. I'm not really that upset, I just can't believe the poor business practices shown by Apple over this entire Touch release. FedEx website says it. I called FedEx, they said it. Called Apple, they said that they have been contacted by FedEx informing them of all the calls complaining about this.

OKay, one: Blurred, I talked to 8 FedEx REPS to be sure, and they all said that the last flight out for the weekend was at 11:15 Am, Sept 29th(as displayed on FedEx) So until maybe Sunday, or most defianmetly Monday morning, NO shipments are going out. But then on TOP of that, there is national holiday, and two reps confirmed a delay, but coul not tell me how long, and directed me to the IPD: International Priority Trace Dept.: 1-800-455-4588, and can be contacted Monday thru Friday, and never is answered by a machine. I am going to call Apple First thing tommorow and demand more compensation because I wont get it for like another week.

Ryan: There is a delay, and no more shipments will go out until atleast monday, but no one in domestic knew of the delay.
Mesmisis: No, they do not ship on Sunday, for sure, and Internation Shipment Release, means that this package is going through Customs, and is receiving clearance to travel into the US from China. This is normal and you should have no issues.
Of course me, I wont be getting mine for a while from the looks of it.

okay, well guys, looks like our little friends are split up. Shipment Exception in this case means that my ipod got to the airport after the aircraft left for Alaska, so, my ipod wil not ship until either Sunday evening, or Early monday morning. I forgot to ask how long it will take, but still, our little guys are split up now. I am sitting rotting in Shanghai, and you guys are already over the ocean. lol, well, actually, unless it doesnt update, then ur the same place, but I am assuming that since it updated at 11:15 and said left origin, that means that last night(the 29th in China) at 11:15, the last plane for the weekend for the mainland left. Thats why it says in transit for you guys. But since my ipod was picked up at 11:47, it missed the last plane out and will be stored at FedEx Shanghai until tommorow night or monday morning. So guys, it was fun while it lasted, but I am so frgging sad this happened. Apple is so retarded, I should call now and say since you shipped a day late it wont get here until after my scheduled time, and get compensated. TechDude, that sucks man! I was hoping our iPods were gonna fly together, was kinda curious which would come quicker, Canada or NY. Guess now we'll never know. My iPod tried to stop the plane for his friends I tell ya! LOL Mine now shows on FedEx as arriving in Alaska at 1:58PM. Definitely call Apple and get some cash refunded for your trouble. I wonder if they're still gonna give me $50 back as they said they would. They never said it was a condition of it arriving by Oct 2nd but then again I'm not exactly due for a rebate if it arrives as scheduled. it turns out that thanks to Apple being late with giving the palet with my ipod on it to the FedEx truck, oh, about 20 minutes later then scheduled pick up, my ipod got to the airport 20 MINUTEES AFTER THE LAST FRIGGING PLANE LEFT FOR THE US. AND ON TOP OF NOT BEING ABLE TO LEAVE CHINA TIL MONDAY, IT AINT GUNNA LEAVE TIL MAYBEEEEEEEE THURSDAY, BECAUSE IT TURNS OUT THAT THERE IS CHINESE NATIONAL HOLIDAY. I'm in the exact same boat as you man. I appreciate all of you taking the time to call FedEx and find out what's really going on. And yes, I definitely think you, and all of us who have been screwed over so royally by Apple should be compensated in some way. They may be a multi-billion dollar company, but that doesn't change the fact that they're treating their loyal customers like s*** with this iPod touch release.

You can't be serious. First of all, the screen thing was easily remedied by a software update, if you read any thread but this one. Second, Apple releases products when the products are ready. Think of what would have happened if Apple waited until after the holiday to ship the Touches. Oh, you people all would've been squirming in your computer chairs... And you got your shipping money back if you paid for it, and even so, the Touches weren't even supposed to ship until the 28th, so you're going to get yours right on time anyways. By the way, $400 really isn't a lot of money if you think about it. Not in the long run.

Okay, well, i understand, i was just p.o. thats why I used CAPS. btw, my status online says the 8th too now. yes, it shipped about 30 minutes ago from shanghai(I am very happy cus it wasnt supposed to ship til tommorow) I am going to call and confirm the delivery. I got compensation for the reason that Apple was late in giving my shipment to FedEx. The man looked it up on record and saw the delivery truck to Shanghai was on time, but Apple gave them the palet late. So, Apple gave me $50 online credit. As of now, my order is shipping, I am happy, and I am sure everyone else is too. The IPT is a great product, it was jsut Apple that screwed some stuff up, so, if anything, it isn't FedEx's fault. i am sorry for the long posts, this should be me last of the long ones. If you check flight records from Friday, you'll see that FedEx flew 5 planes from Shanghai to Anchorage - up from their normal 2 per day. FedEx and Apple have been working hard to resolve these problems, even though a typhoon isn't under their control. I agree that it is annoying to wait so long for your touch, but everyone needs to remain calm and look at the big picture. Apple isn't even obligated to give most of us shipping refunds and credits; most of our orders did ship by the 28th anyway. Every Apple rep I've dealt with has been very friendly and professional, and I've never waited more than 5 minutes on hold waiting for a rep. Compare Apple's service to that of other computer makers, and then complain about it.

It would appear that your iPod is not on a plane. The last FedEx flight left China Friday evening; they don't fly on weekends. If it hasn't updated by now, it wasn't on that plane.

I agree that it is annoying to wait so long for your touch, but everyone needs to remain calm and look at the big picture. Apple isn't even obligated to give most of us shipping refunds and credits; most of our orders did ship by the 28th anyway. Every Apple rep I've dealt with has been very friendly and professional, and I've never waited more than 5 minutes on hold waiting for a rep. Compare Apple's service to that of other computer makers, and then complain about it.

It would appear that your iPod is not on a plane. The last FedEx flight left China Friday evening; they don't fly on weekends. If it hasn't updated by now, it wasn't on that plane.

btw tht is wrong. as u can see, my ipod just shipped TODAY. which technically is monday in China. But yea, so, mhm, and btw, left origin Shanghai means it left, so i am not sure if it left China yet, but they do have planes going out as of today, over 5 per day. not really. If your order is still in Kunshan, hopefully we can gather that a plane will leave tonight again for Alaska, seeing as there are more, and um, hopefully your shipment will go out, but I don't understand why it doesn't say shipping exception, because that means it was delivered after the cut-off. I cannot tellyou for sure, but if your order was picked up already, and is still in Kunshan, it will leave tonight or tommorow, hopefully, and should have it in the estimated shipping time you ordered. It should say In Transit if it left, so, I am just assuming that when it says left origin, Kunshan, that it means it was witheld in Kunshan, rather than the airport like mine. I am not sure, all I can say is to contact FedEx International package trace Dept.(where a person will answer the phone) at 1-800-455-4588, Mon - Fri 9Am. - 6PM. Okay, well, when it says in transit, it probably means it is not being held, and is still shipping, but it is still in China. idk, but dude, our shipment was the like last one out that wasnt affected by the holiday, that is why they are sitting in Japan right now, because FedEx got them there quick so they wouldn't be affected by the holiday. And I got a email fomr a rep in China, right at the Shanghai facility, saying that I was lucky becasue the next shipment would be delayed til the 8th. now thats why people got the email notices about ontime delivery today from Apple, because FedEx pulled the resources to get those last few things out of the country, so I am not sure, but i think you may have to wait. Call Apple, I wound up getting an iHome, cus online it said status was the 8th, but that was b4 I got the email bout the delivery stuff, so i got a free ihome now and technically didnt deserve it! but call apple, u need to get compensation

Nevermind Nemesis, it looks like it took a detour to West Parkersburgh, WV because thats close to athens, about 20 or so minutes. I looked at the tracking info when i woke up, and it was about 20 minutes when the delivery left, so i figured i'd look down the hall to see if anyone was there. The Fedex guy knocked before i could open the door. This kid has his touch!

I called FedEx today and they told me that on account of the Golden Week holiday, that they're running a skeleton crew, and only trying to move a list of prioritized shipments. Stuff from Apple (including your touch) is on that list, and the lady told me that it's very likely that it'll move soon and be there this week, but it is possible that it wont move until Friday.

Non-stop to indiana, then I have no idea, but I am assuming Ohio, and the Rochester, NY, then to my door step! This is amazing because mine was so luckily moved by FedEx because of the holiday, to Japan, until the next morning when they could bring it to Alask. The rep told me that since Apple gave them my package late, adn itwas sitting at Shanghai, they jumped it on a plane from China to Japan, and then to Anchorage, in order to avoid delay. Nice FedEx! Mine left Indianpolis Sat. I had no updates at all after 4 PM sat, no updates at all on Sunday. My expected delivery date was weds Oct 3rd by 10:30 AM. I live in Queens NY. Well, to my complete surprise my ipod touch arrived at 9:05 AM monday morning Oct 1st. Lemme just say, this device is simply amazing.
