macbook to scart to TV

heya im trying to connect my macbook to my TV. Ive bought a Mini DVI to VGA - Ive connected the vga to a scart cable and pluged the scart into the back of my TV, however no picture is displayed.....i thought if i changed to AV the It would be displayed. Now im not technical so please dont ask any weird questions like does the audio tripple v signal out to the octagon of pythagorus with the square root of 2 ;)

just let me know how to get it to work pin simple words ... cheers =)

You need the mini DVI-video adapter.

Oh so Mini DVI to VGA adapter wont work? cause i bought it from an Apple store and told the dude its to use my Macbook with My TV and he said this is the one i need, obviously he said you just need the scart cable and then ur sorted....id be surprised if he was wrong cause they have a lot of training and Steve Jobs wudnt be to impressed :)
