I've got a dual 1 gig mirror door, OSX.2.6

I was sent a CD full of pics for my boss, but when I put it in NOTHING happens. I mean nothing, it does not show up on desktop, does not say Initalize, nothing.

Disc Utility says:
Mount Point: Not Mounted
Format: CD_ROM_Mode_2_Form_1
Capacity 25.71 MB

so at least Disc Util is seeing something is in there.

When I put it in a Mac running OS9.2.2 it asks if I want to Intialize it?

Any thoughts? Is there a new SCSI probe that will mount everything?

Thanks

Maybe the CD is corrupt, If a CD is corrupt/damaged then it usually wont mount in OS X (it will do nothing). OS 9 tries to format, but that will obviously not work.

Does the CD work on a PC? What computer was it burnt on? If the CD is a burnt CD maybe it failed burning. A SCSI probe will not mount any IDE device (since your CD-ROM drive is IDE in your power mac).

You might have your default action that OS X takes upon insertion of a non-video, non-music CD set to "do nothing". I found that the Mac may decide to actually do nothing -- not even mount it.

It's better to indicate that OS X should "start an application"
and make that application Finder. That way, the CD will be sure to mount.
