When do Best Buys' usually get their stock and, obviously you dont know but, if they got them in today and I went up their tomorrow, do you think they might have any based on how well they are selling?

I went to our local store and asked them when they would be getting them. The sales man said he thought they were coming in via ups and they could come at any time. Don't know if that is true but that is what they told me. Not much help sorry, I want one really bad too..

The ones by me in the Chicago area get much of their electronics stuff Thursdays at about 3:00pm for the weekend. That's how I was able to get my hands on an XB360 early on.

When I called the Apple Store in Towson, MD yesterday they had a few 8GB in stock. Maybe give them a call and see if they have any left.

I think Apple stores are getting them in almost every day. The Bethesda Row Apple store said they have no idea what's on the daily shipment until it comes in the door.

Towson's a bit far which is why I'm looking at Rockville, MD etc. I'm in Silver Spring, by the way. Thanks! I might give them a call and make the trek up there!

-Even though Best Buy says Backordered on their website. I've been hearing about people who have been getting it from Best Buy Pre-Order's already. And because they don't charge your card until they ship I was considering buying it from Best Buy as well.

i think the truck just shows up with them and sometimes it'll have the touches and sometimes it wont. i just dont understand why some BB ARE getting them and some BB AREN'T getting them. doesnt make sense.

Keep in mind that BestBuy.com says stock is UNAVAILABLE when the store has 1 item left!!! So they could still have them even if the website says they don't. Best bet is to call. What's amazing about those numbers is the scale of the stock. Even with hundreds and hundreds of Best Buy stores out there, it is still a miniscule amount compared with what they eventually will sell (ipods stock is measured in the millions, not around 1,000).

It demonstrates:
1.) How early the week 36 and week 37 models were, and that as the earliest models they were just getting a handle on their assembly line (perhaps weeding out bad models, but not doing so effectively).

2.) How people on this board really went out of their ways to get early models (or how people with early models came to this board). Even with Apple stores included, its in the low thousands of stock they have actually delivered into customers hands, and not too many more shipping probably.
