The current version of Leopard the developers are testing... is it feature complete? I thought Jobs said there were "secret" features? Does that mean Apple will release more info about these features?

it has to be pretty close its supposed to be released in october, I am kinda starting to think it will be delayed

I have a feeling it's going to be delayed as well. We don't even have a RC yet, and it usually takes about 2 weeks from the last release candidate to arrive in stores. I'll be very surprised if Apple makes it's October 31 deadline.

It took 4 weeks last time, so I also expect that it'll be delayed. Again. They're definitely trying to copy as much of Vista as possible 😛

558 or 528? If it's 558 then that's a big jump from the 528 just released.

Edit: I see that today's update, 528d, is a patch from last month's 528. 558 sounds about right then 🙂

When you say "current," I assume you mean the latest developer build. Of course that build isn't the true current build.

There is one little feature that'll crop up in the next couple days once the next big seed goes out to devs. Anyone wanna take a guess? Has something to do with iCal and the 17th... 😉

Leopard has been feature complete since the build demo'd at WWDC, they've only been making tweaks and fixes since then. the "secret" features were showed off at WWDC and were anything but earth shattering.

oh no, were gonna lose iCal day on the 17th of each month! 😱

It seems as if they are still in alpha builds..no?
If you're judging by the build number... no. How many times do I have to explain this?

9 = 9th iteration of Darwin, the core on which Mac OS X is based
A = 1st branch of this fork
528 = 528th build of this branch
d = 4th update to this build

For all we know, build 9A528d could be very close to Golden Master, or a few weeks away. Only the Leopard beta testers know for sure.

In summary, the build number has nothing to do with the status of the build as Alpha, Beta, or whatever else.
