I got FireWire working under System 7. My Solectron 1394 PCILynx card works but my Sonnet Allegro FW400 does not. If anybody has other FireWire cards and a PCI Mac that can run 7.5.5 or 7.6.1 to try it in, that'd be much appreciated... right now my table looks pretty sad with only two entries.

wow, that great to hear that system 7 is still being taken into the future. with Radeon support , firewire, and others. its just keeps getting more and more capable. and to top it all off its a real nice OS to have and run, since it dont have a huge memory footprint and can run fast on a low end Macs ( that is if it can run system 7).
good job dpaanlka. i would love to see what all else system 7 is capable of doing/supporting that it was normally not capable of doing/supporting
the only system 7 capable Mac i have is my Performa 475, or i would be glad to help you test it

Well Premiere 5 seems to do a sufficient job of DV editing...
