iPod touch "Convert Selection for iPod"

Does anyone know the specifications of the output file if you convert a video in iTunes by clicking, "conver selection for iPod"? and does this work well for the iPod touch?

You would probably get better quality with the iPhone preset, but it should work.

it doesnt give me an option for that, and on my computer it takes a long time to convert, so I would rather know before hand how good it is

The extension says mp4v.
