Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere, and I did look, but I just caught it.

"MacWhispers to quietly fade away"...yet he makes it his headline.

http://www.envestco2.com/macwhispers/

The shiesty owner cites that it is because of his dedication to his booming MacMice business. Funny...I would think that it has more to do with the fact that he/they are the laughing stock of the Mac rumor circuit.

Now where will I go to get all of my Apple dis-information?

PBG5 -

I know MOSR is not very on top of things either, but in the case of MacWhispers, it's outlandish claims like this that have made it the joke around town:

The Prediction

We believe that the complete Power Macintosh G5 line is ready to bring to market, today. We also believe that not only is the 15.4-inch Powerbook ready to go, but that both the 17 and 12-inch variants are much, much closer to seeing daylight in new PPC 970 trim than anyone would have believed. We have been told that the Xserve PPC 970 versions have been completed. And, we heard a credible assertion just yesterday that the iMac platform is “within only weeks” of seeing a move to the PPC 970, as well.

In all, the word on our wire is that Apple has been even busier and more successful than our most fanciful, optimistic thinking would have previously allowed us to believe. The PowerPC 970 transition is not going to come as a protracted series of minor trickles, stretched out over a 12 to 18-month period; it is coming in a dizzying, mad rush, between now and Christmas. And, it all starts Monday, with Steve Jobs’ 2-hour keynote address at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

Prepare to be amazed."

Funny story--I found MacRumors by accident because 4 years ago when I first got into Macs, I ran across Appleinsider and MOSR, but realized they weren't the best so stopped visiting for 4 years until one day on MacAddict I heard these tidbits about Panther and a chance of a "new processor" coming out in the next year. Well, since I didn't know of many places to go to get decent info or any info at all about this, I decided to try to go back to Apple websites I used to visit, but I forgot to put the "os" in macosrumors.com and ended up here! Imagine my surprise when I poked around and realized how great MacRumors is!

Appleinsider has seemingly come back from the grave and is second (IMO) only to Macrumors. They had the scoop on Smeagol and Nick from Think Secret posts on their board occasionally.

-All

Jack Campbell, owner of MacMice and MacWhispers is a very shady fellow, and has a few civil cases on theft of IP among others. He's a 'grey area' exploiter - his chief skill is scamming persons who don't read the fine print or do research, then leaves town when he's sniffed out.

An example, the image below: "MacWhispers declaims any warranty of accuracy in any content posted to this site."

Basically, he's saying "this could all be bulldooky - but I'm not telling what. Believe at your own risk.".

Sorry, I don't do business with folks like this. So to Jack: Don't let the door hit you [again this time].

I dunno if its been hacked or Jack letting his mouth go, but earlier today the message was changed from fade away to 'goes to hell' and has jack swearing etc...then just now i checked to see if it was still there and it forwards to http://www.yourmaclife.com/ instead of the real site.... your mac life being one site involved in reporting on the shady dealing of jack campbell
