Once install.app is installed, can you still jailbreak? I tried, and then my phone went crazy and I had to restore. Jailbreak said something about illegal operation and then promptly exited... Now I'm restoring, but I'd like to know how to get ROMs on my phone if I can't jailbreak. BTW - I'm on an intel mac.

After some searching, it appears that jailbreak doesn't work if you updated to iTunes 7.4 jailbreak and iFuntastic no longer work... So in the process of learning, I lost my custom carrier logo, the slider lock buttons, and my battery charging icons. Which really isn't that big a deal since I still have my bright and shiny installer.app, which has been occupying me for a while.

The whole reason I lost all my mods is because I wanted to add NES ROMs and tried to jailbreak to upload them, and then it all went south.

My question is: is there a workaround for this? How would I upload ROMs if I can't jailbreak or use iFuntastic?

I've had problems with iFuntastic. It doesn't quite work...like, at all.

I have the latest iTunes and Installer.app. I use Cyberduck to access my iPhone's files with no issues at all.

You can also use the app Customize to use custom images for the things you mentioned.

Thanks, I'll look into that. While I'm competent, I am still a little new to this kind of "modding". How do I use Cyberduck?

Use installer.app to install the BSD Subsystem and SSH. Open cyberduck and enter your iPhone's ip address in the server field. Set the protocol to SFTP. Use 'root' for the username and 'dottie' for the password. I think your phone might need to be docked for this to work.

This info is entered in Cyberduck after pressing "Open Connection"

Thanks again, I'll try this later tonight, or tomorrow...

Ok, tried it, and I keep getting a timeout error. What port should I be using? Also, I'm just taking the ip address from the wi-fi settings, correct?

EDIT: Dude, if there was a way to give you rep points or a thanks, I'd do it. Worked FLAWLESSLY!! Thank you!!

Just click Open Connection then choose "SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)" in the Protocol dropdown. It will fill in the port for you. Then just put the IP from Wifi Settings. The username should be root and password should be alpine unless you changed them.
