Anyone seen any TV ads as of late? I haven't seen any lately. Does anyone want to take a wild guess as to why no iPhone TV ads if this has been your observation as well.

Apple tv = likely because it is the worse idea Jobs has ever let past the sketching phase.
Apple Iphone = who knows! Maybe they are releasing the advertising $$ into the iPods.

I saw an iPhone ad on TV two days ago and I barely watch TV. Apple TV is great for people who do not enjoy geeking out and watching movies or listening to all music on computer or iPod, or patching up your Mac to your a/v. But apple became consumed with iPhone and hasn't kept up with value-added enhancements even though launch period sales were good.

The iPhone is one of those free advertising products. Word of mouth has done all the advertising for the product. I've seen an iPhone ad on TV maybe twice - and that was earlier on this year.

You advertise what you NEED to sell/what is not selling strong. That which sells well by itselfdoes not need the advertising. Besides, all the news shows do PLENTY of advertising...

There is so much hype about the iPhone they don't need to waste money on advertising it.
With regards to AppleTV I have one and I think its great. I have it hooked up to my 42" HDTV and use it all the time. My tv has now become my music centre, movie theatre and YouTube softcore porn channel. :D Oh and I have done a few photo slideshows that knocked the socks of my guests!
Swish! :D

How is Apple TV a bad idea. I want to watch my media on my Big TV, wirelessly.
Although I think it should have an Optical Drive and TV Recording capabilities.

This thread took a left turn pretty quickly...
I don't have a need for a MacBook Pro, but I don't run around saying its the biggest POS ever because I don't see the need for it.
I too like my ATV and have to agree that people are wow'd by it when they come over.
Either way, Back on topic... On the East Coast, I've only seen a handful of Apple commercials on any product launch. Its a pretty typical pattern with Apple. Their research probably shows diminishing returns on keeping those ads running.

Hi,
As said before, has no need to advertise that much. Anyone with an iPhone is practically a walking billboard, and also there are tons of reviews floating on the web and tv. Also I haven't seen any Get a Mac Ads recently either.

They are spending all the ad money on the new Nano Ads....
And on the Apple TV thing. I never thought I'd like it, but I got one last summer after being laid up from an injury (otherwise I would have never bought it). Every single person that has seen it in use thinks it's the coolest thing ever. From seeing YouTube in 1080p, to letting others DJ my music, it is the easiest to use media device that I have ever seen. And it doesn't bother me at all that people think it's a fanboy product.

I don't really understand the point of Apple TV. Is it just something you can use to watch your downloaded video content on your television? It plugs in via HDMI or DVI, right? I guess because I have my computer wired into my widescreen TV, I can just watch everything on iTunes and youtube right from there anyway. It seems to me this is the cheaper and easier way to go.

And what happens if you want to watch that content on another TV? Well that is where some use Apple TV.
