hi,

a few quick question for the touch owners:

how is the screen 'readability' in bright sunlight?
can you watch a movie or surf the web?
is it better/worse than, say, the ds lite?

thanks

It looked pretty amazing in Colto's HD video (see the Wifi one)

it's an LCD screen, sunlight does not go well with it. Sure you can still see it and use it easily enough, but it isn't recommended. LCD screens used to get damaged by direct sunlight actually, I'm not sure if that still applies to newer LCD screens like the one the Touch has, but until I know I'm not taking any chances.

The fact that it is a LCD really has little to do with it.

A CRT or projector would have the same problems.

well lcds have improved a lot over time. see the old and new nintendo ds/lite for example. i have almost no problem when playing the lite in the great outdoors. the old ds is unusable.
the sony psp and my 5g ipod video have also not the best screens for viewing outside.

does someone of you own one of the other devices and compare them to the ipt screen?
