So, I have the Macbook pro you see in my Sig.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 and OSX.

When I want to use wifi, it seeems that the Windows through bootcamp is MUCH better at attaining a signal than is the OSX one. I figured out that OSX only lets you view the wireless networks that are more than a "medium" in the Windows XP wireless scale.

I really love OSX, but when I need to piggyback on a neighbor's connection for a couple of days while I get mine fixed, it seems as if OSX doenst even seen the network, whereas XP sees it as a Low/Very Low connection but at least lets me connect and check my email.

Any possible fixes? Sorry if this has been posted already

Boot into XP and write down the exact SSID of the connection you want to use.

Boot into OS X and click on the Airport icon on the Menu Bar and choose "Other". Type in the SSID that you wrote down from XP.

It should let you connect that way.

I hope this helps.

iStumbler is a GREAT program and will allow you to see almost all of the networks in your area
