First Strike Mod for BF2142.

This mod looks cool. The official release date is Friday the 28th of September.

Can you only play it with the Windows version of BF2142?
I hope they will make it work on mac too..

I downloaded it, but it is packaged as an Installer app. I hope to be able to run it on a Windows machine this week and then figure out what needs to be put where. Hopefully someone with some hosting space will be able to host a Mac version soon and/or we can get a bit torrent of it up.

If I understand correctly, it is "just" a mod so should go in the "mods" folder of BF2142.

I love mods. I'll give this a download when my internet connection is more stable, looks fun from the media.

It WORKS!!! First Strike works on the Mac. I was able to run the installer on a Windows machine. All it does is extract a "FirstStrike" folder to BF2142's mods folder - you don't even need BF2142 on the Windows machine, just point the installer at a random directory. The "mods" folder can be found on the Mac by doing a couple "Show package contents" on the Battlefield 2142 app. Once the mod folder is in place, just start 2142 as normal. Now log in and press the "Community" button. From there select "Custom Games". First Strike will be listed as an available option. Choose it. Launch it. BF2142 will restart. You now have Star Wars goodness.

Currently, the mod is only available as a Windows installer app. So no, you can't JUST download it; you have to be able to run the installer.

this didn't seem to work for me i installed it in windows and copied the mods folder to my Battlefield 2142 directory.

where exactly should the mods folder be first of all because it wasnt there when i looked

try this...(all the "show package contents are on Battle Field 2142")

Did you sort out how to fix the crash? I'm getting the same results under BF 2143 V1.25 with the First Strike module installed.

I updated to 1.4 and then 1.5 and still First Strike just kills BF 2142 dead after it restarts the game.

Anyone work a fix yet?
